Overview
Users should familiarize themselves with the hand tools safety rules.
Hand Tools Safety Rules:
- Always wear safety glasses/goggles.
- Always think about where the tool will go if it slips or breaks.
- Never use tools that are broken, damaged, or have burrs on them – especially chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers. Report any broken or damaged tools to the shop’s technicians.
- Always hold work securely in a vise.
- Always use a brush to remove chips.
- Never use a file without a handle.
- Remove all burrs from your job before handling it.
- If your job heats up, mark it or place it so no one can be injured by it.
